She was raised in Washington state with farm animals as a child and that love for animals transferred to her own family through the years especially with horses. Following years of horse ownership and barrel racing with her daughter, she knew she wanted to go back to school and learn animal medicine, specifically large animals with a special emphasis on equine medicine once she earns her degree. When Kimberly is not studying during the week or at Bellevue clinic, she can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband Darren and their two English Cream Golden Retrievers Bodi and Boone. They often travel to see both their son and daughter who live out of state and also periodically travel overseas and tour the globe with Darren’s employer.

When Bailee isn’t at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her pets or working hard to advance her knowledge in professional dog training.
